What is the association?
An informal group of people who speak English and who have an interest in Galicia, Spain.
Is it open to all nationalities?
Yes.
Does membership cost anything?
No.
What does it do?
It promotes greater social, cultural and linguistic links between its members.
It also operate a web-based Forum which both provides information on Galicia and attempts to deal with questions on life here.
Where and how often do you meet?
The Association is very young and so far we've met only 5 times. Apart from our first general meeting, this has been over lunch in Pontevedra, La Guardia, Antas de Ulla and Sarria.
As the AGA grows, we expect provincial sub-groups to emerge, based possibly in the cities of Pontevedra, A Coruña, Lugo and Ourense.
Are there any commercial links?
No.
Is the AGA sponsored by anyone or any organisation?
Yes, the hosting of this website and the forum is kindly sponsored by Resai, a Galician company that does property construction, renovation and conversion.
Does the AGA receive funds from any official body?
No.
Can I go on a circulation list?
Yes. Please Contact Us.
If I become a member, will I be bothered by message/circulars?
Members receive information about upcoming events but you can choose not to get these, if you want.
If I want to use the Forum, do I have to register?
Yes but this does not automatically make you a member of AGA. If you want to join, you'll need to write to us.
